What Our Customers Say...

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
First edition.

'Sylvie and Bruno' is set partly in real-world Victorian time (with explorations of religion, society, philosophy and morality) and partly within the fantasy world of Fairyland, incorporating many nonsense elements and poems similar to Carroll's Alice books.
This and its second volume 'Sylvie and Bruno Concluded' form the last novel from Carroll published during his lifetime.
Both this novel and 'Concluded' were illustrated by Harry Furniss, who established his career on the Illustrated London News and afterwards Punch.
