The first edition of this decorative and richly illustrated musical work from Reginald Francis Hallward, a British glassmaker, poet, painter and illustrator best known for his church stained glass windows, and closely associated with the Arts and Crafts movement.

Hallward provided the music, verse, design and illustration of this delightful work.

Illustrated throughout and with eight chromolithograph plates, including one double page plate, printed by engraver and colour printer Edmund Evans. Collated, complete.

Undated; dated 1889 via Jisc.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with pictorial paper covered boards. Bumping to back strip head and tail and board perimeters, with small losses to paper. Small ink stain to fore edge of text block. Front free endpaper absent. Internally firmly bound. Light handling marks throughout. Small tape repair to closed tear to rear free endpaper.
