Two of these volumes come from renowned English naturalist, geologist and biologist Charles Darwin, both of which contain observations made during his five-year voyage on HMS Beagle, a trip which established his authority and popularity. The third volume is from C. J. Wills, who describes in vivid detail life in Persia during fifteen years spent in the country between 1866-1881.
