Covering a wide range of sectors, from textiles and engineering to chemicals and consumer goods, it offers valuable insight into Britain’s commercial strength at the height of its industrial era, accompanied by numerous diagrams, portraits, engravings, maps, and charts.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, a little worn. scattered spotting to boards with the odd damp spot. Rubbing and bumping to extremities, particularly the head and tail of spine, resulting in two slight cracks at joints at head and tail, but remaining firm. Fading to extremities and spine. Front Hinge cracked but reinforced with tape. Slight damp staining to perimeters of endpapers. the odd slight scratch to rear board. Rear joint cracked, with binding materials exposed, but holding. Small bookseller's label to rear paste down, partially removed. Title page until page 14 disbound, reinforced with staples. Rust staining from staples. Pages up until 49, somewhat loosely bound but holding. Otherwise, internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, if slightly age toned with the odd spot.
