    First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

    The first edition of this scarce work.

    Alfred J. Bamford's travel work exploring India and China, an interesting piece of Victorian written by the author during long holidays.

    With chapters on Babudom, Chinese New Year, Chinese officialdom, Jagannath, and more. 

    Prize label from the Cleethorpes Technical Institute to the front paste down.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the boards. Only a few minor marks to the boards, mostly to the rear board. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prize label to the front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
