A charming poem about an old farm gate by Eliza Cook, the English poet and author, who, alongside her poetical works, is known for her advocations for political freedom for women and education for all. The work is potentially inspired by her own experiences growing up on a farm.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally excellent with only the odd slight mark and minimal rubbing to the extremities, and very light fading to the spine. Front hinge starting at the head. Slight cockling to the rear pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with only the odd minor spot to the front.
