The first facsimile edition, being a facsimile of Doyle's original manuscript.

Richard Doyle's beautiful rendition of 'Jack the Giant Killer', illustrated colourfully throughout in his signature style.

Doyle worked for Punch, designing the magazine's masthead for the first issue, a design which was used for over a century. 

He produced this manuscript in 1842, when he was only eighteen.

Illustrated in colour throughout.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart, with a few small marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Stamp to the recto and verso of the front endpaper. Light spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
