Robert Smith Surtees (1805-1864) was an English editor and novelist, most widely known for the cockney character of Jorrocks. This work appeared posthumously, the year following the author's death.

Illustrated by Wildrake, Health and Jellicoe with twelve hand-coloured plates. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Front board is loose. Externally rather worn; there is loss to the head and tail of the spine, and the cloth is rather faded. Extremities are somewhat bumped. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are uncut and just a touch age-toned.
