A touching memoir on the life of Edwin Bainbridge, written by his schoolfriend, T. Darlington.
Bainbridge was an heir to the famous Bainbridge store in Newcastle. In 1886 he went on a trip to New Zealand, however, he met his untimely end during the eruption of Mount Tarawera. This work recounts the deadly eruption.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding plate, and ten plates. Collated, complete.
With a preface by Reverend W. F. Moulton.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing and marks to the cloth, with a few faint dampstains to the rear board. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Spine is faded. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots.
