Description

Illustrated, Very Scarce

A charming, and very unusual copy exploring a wide range of sea-dwelling creatures.

Decorated with beautifully designed pictorial boards, and gilt edges to the text block.

Dr. G. Hartwig wrote several titles on artic wildlife, including "The Sea and Its Living Wonders", from which this work originated. Seen here, published independent from its original title.

Features a frontispiece, and frequent vignette illustrations accompanying the text.

Condition

Bound in original brown cloth and pictorial boards. Externally, smart, with shelf wear. Front hinge starting, rear hinge broken. Inscription to front free endpaper. Small tear to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound, very slight strain. Pages generally bright and clean, occasional spotting and handling marks. Evidence of creasing on one internal page.
