The third edition to 'Allan Quatermain', and the first edition to both 'Jess' and 'Love Eternal', with the verses in Chapter XXXIII present to 'Jess', which were removed in the second edition and subsequent printings.

Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and nineteen monochrome plates to 'Allan Quatermain', and a colour frontispiece to 'Love Eternal'. Collated, complete.

A collection of three novels from the celebrated Victorian adventure writer, H. Rider Haggard, known for his pioneering 'lost world' novels. This set includes 'Allan Quatermain', an adventure novel and the sequel to his popular work 'King Solomon's Mines', 'Jess' a novel takes place on a rural farm in South Africa and recounts the romantic entanglements of its protagonist, and 'Love Eternal' a romance novel.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, slight edge wear, fading to the spine to 'Jess' and 'Quartermain', and a slight lean and closed tear to the rear joint to 'Quatermain'. Library label to the front board to 'Jess'. Spotting to the endpapers to two volumes. Internally firmly bound to all but 'Jess' which is tender in places. Pages bright with the odd spot, slightly heavier to 'Quatermain'.
