The Vicar of Wakefield' is a comedic novel which is often described as being sentimental, and it is narrated by a Vicar, Dr. Charles Primrose. It was first published in 1766, and has been widely read ever since.
Important Irish author Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774) was a writer of both fiction, poetry and non-fiction. His writings include this celebrated novel, as well as biographical and historical works such as 'A History of the Earth and Animated Nature', 'The Life of Richard Nash', 'Account of the Augustan Age in England', and 'The History of England, from the Earliest Times to the Death of George II'.

Condition
In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart; a little rubbed to the head of the spine, raised bands and joints. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little spotted.
