The author used the court minutes of the East India Company from 1599 to 1603 as a main resource in this writing, documenting the very early years of the Company from its founding. Additionally describing the first voyage by Waymouth in search of the North-West Passage.
A brilliant source of information on the East India Company, published only a few years after the company was dissolved.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the spine. Closed tear to the tail of the front joint. Spine is discoloured with a few marks, a few further marks to the boards, heavier to the rear board. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
