This work details the extraction and economic significance of base and industrial minerals such as coal, iron, lead, zinc, and copper, offering detailed analysis of production methods, geological formations, labour conditions, and the technological state of the industry across different regions of the United States.

Rebound in quarter morocco, with cloth covered boards. Endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Front free endpaper adhered to front pastedown. Front hinge lightly strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd light handling mark. Edgewear to tissue guard fore edges.
