Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet, known for being one of the 'Fireside Poets' from New England. He wrote many lyrical poems, as well as poems based in mythology and legend. Longfellow was one of the most popular American poets of his time. He was the first American to completely translate Dante's 'Divine Comedy', which is included in this set.

'The Prose Works of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow', complete in two volumes, published in 1886. Volume I contains 'Outre-Mer' and 'Drift-Wood', and is illustrated with a frontispiece, whereas Volume II contains 'Hyperion' and 'Kavanagh'. Collated, complete.
