What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The first edition of this very scarce work.

A brilliant fantasy novel, written in collaboration between May Kendall and Andrew Lang.

'That Very Mab' is an enchanting novel, reminaging Shakespeare's Queen Mab, who appeared in 'Romeo and Juliet'. Mab is the queen of the fairies, who was also reimagined in Shelley's poem 'Queen Mab'.

Though fantastical, this novel is also satirical in tone, poking fun at contemporary civilisation, in particular the science and politics of the day.

Lang is best known for his colourful series of fairy books, of which Kendall was attributed the abridgment.
