Bound in half crushed morocco, with marbled boards. 

Undated, dated from an identical copy held by the Hathi Trust. 

The French translation of this work by ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus, which is often recognised as one of the earliest studies of human character types. 

Translated by Jean de La Bruyere, a French philosopher and moralist who was noted for his satire. 

Condition

Bound in half crushed morocco, with marbled boards. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities and cracking to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and the odd spot.
