An important discussion of the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases found in the ovaries. With observations made regarding anatomy and physiology of the ovary. 

From a pioneer within pelvic and abdominal surgery, Lawson Tait (1845-1899), who is well known for introducing salpingectomy in 1883 as the treatment for ectopic pregnancy, a procedure that has saved countless lives since then.

Him and American physician J. Marion Sims are considered the fathers of gynecology. 

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine. Slight darkening to the cloth spine and boards. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and a few scattered spots to the endpapers.
