A limited edition. Being an unusual unsigned copy. 

Illustrated with eleven engraved proof plates, printed direct from stippled plates in the Bartolozzi style and duplicated in red and brown, and ten coloured illustrations by Rowlandson, as well as many colour and monochrome vignettes. Collated, complete. 

A collection of illustrations depicting characters and street vendors, and their 'calls' in nineteenth century London, with descriptions by Andrew Tuer. The illustrations are taken from various works on London street criers. 

In the publisher's original half cloth with paper to the boards.

Condition

In the publisher's original half cloth with paper to the boards. Externally, marks to the boards, with wear and very small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine. Bookplate of Emily Catharine Ellis to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright pages with spotting to the front and rear blanks, otherwise clean.
