What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound, Very Scarce

The very scarce first English language translation of this work, which was first published in French as 'John Bull et son île' earlier in the same year.

This is a humorous and satirical look at late‑Victorian English society, customs, and colonial attitudes, written by the French author Léon Paul Blouet under the pseudonym Max O’Rell.

O’Rell’s tone is light‑hearted but critical, viewing English habits through the lens of an outsider who blends caricature with affection and wit.
