Very scarce work. A collection of memories of journeys and voyages across the world on various ships, including: HMS Stag, HMS Malabar, HMS Minden, HMS Juno, and HMS Cressy, amongst others. Written without journals or papers to refer to, the author hoped that these pages would lend a helping hand to sailors and marines of the future. Written by John William Dorville, a British admiral. Dated from the British Library.

Condition

Bound in full calf with gilt. Externally, sound with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. A small crack to the front joint with loss of the spine label. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Previous owner's bookplate to the front endpaper.
