Beautifully illustrated by David Scott with a monochrome frontispiece and twenty-four monochrome plates. Collated, complete. David Scott illustrated the first major illustrated edition of this renowned work, with his illustrated edition now being scarce to find. 

'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' is Samuel Taylor Coleridge's longest major poem. It tells the tale of a sailor who narrates his story to a gentleman who is on his way to a wedding ceremony.

In the publisher's original decorative cloth. Externally smart with fading to the spine, and light wear and bumping to the extremities. Light spotting to the endpapers. Internally, front few pages starting slightly, otherwise firm. Pages bright with light spotting to the front and rear, only the odd spot throughout. Owner's signature to the title page.
