An extensive manual to the Kistna (or Krishna) District, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The district was formed in December 1859, under the orders of the government of Sir Charles Trevelyan in British India. This work explores the history before the British Empire, from the early period, to the Muhammadan, French, and finally British period.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and one colour folding map to the pocket to the rear. Collated, complete.

Condition
In a half straight grain morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, a little rubbed. Front joint and hinge are starting but firm. A small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the boards, with a small dampstain to the tail of the front board. Rear hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Author's and prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper, with a tape repair to the gutter. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean. Tape repair to the gutter of the title page, and to the margins of pages 113 to 120. Folding map is torn and requires careful handling.
