Paul Du Chaillu's account of his winter and Summer journeys to the Polar regions such as Sweden, Norway, Lapland and Northern Finland. Chaillu was a French-American traveller known for being the first modern European to confirm the existence of gorillas. This work discusses his travels, providing an interesting account of life in these Polar regions, the people, glaciers, and the natural phenomena of the 'midnight sun' and 'Polar nights'.

Condition
Bound in full modern cloth. Externally excellent with minimal wear and bumping to the extremities, and very minimal cockling to the front board to 'Vol I'. Owner's signature to the front free endpapers with light spotting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages with light spotting to the front and rear, otherwise clean. Tape repairs to the verso of the folding map and to the odd plate to 'Vol I', with closed tears to the folding map.
