    Part VII of this report from the U.S. Commissioner of Fish and Fisheries, for the year 1879.

    This extract includes an inquiry into the marine species known to occur on the coast of United States from New Jersey to Eastport, written by Professor W. G. Farlow.

    Introduced with a letter from the Commissioner of the time, Spencer F. Baird, stating his transmission of this report. 

    Rebound in full cloth, with a leather spine label. 

    This copy illustrated with twenty-five plates to the rear, each containing numerous figures.

    Condition

    Rebound in full cloth, with a leather spine label. Externally, with slight fading to the spine and a few minor damp stains to the front board. With an ownership impression and ink inscription to the front pastedown. Pages are bright and generally clean, with an ownership inscription to the title page.
