Two very scarce juvenile poems.

Both poems are entertaining and lively, one about the European folk tradition of dancing around the maypole, and the other about a child's debut on the stage. 

This set contains:

'The Maypole', with the sheet music for 'Come, Lasses and Lads'. Illustrated throughout, including with eight colour plates. Collated, complete.

'The Baby's Debut', by James Smith. Illustrated throughout, including with six colour plates. Collated, complete.

Both volumes are illustrated by G. A. Konstam, E. Casella, and N. Casella. 

Adverts to the rear paste downs and rear wraps, in addition to one page of adverts to the rear of 'The Baby's Debut'.

Undated, dated from Jisc from copies held at the British Library.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Light handling marks and discolouration to the wraps. A small amount of wear to the front wrap of 'The Baby's Debut'. Spines are a little worn, with small tears, with a repair to 'The Maypole'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a few scattered spots.
