This edition features a revised abridgment of that work, with a continuation of the history of the mission up to the time of publication.

This work was written by the Reverend Henry Rowley, and features his account of the mission to Central Africa under Bishop Mackenzie, and a continuation of the history of the mission up to the date of publication.
