Jules Bernard Luys edited and authored many articles in this journal on matters of the brain, discussing various psychological and medical experiments.
Luys's work includes discussion of the anatomy of the brain, the 'properties of nervous elements', organic phosphorescence, automatic activity of the nervous elements, the evolution of the processes of cerebral activity, and the 'phase of propagation of the processes of cerebral activity'.
