The first privately printed edition of this work, the large paper issue, which bears a proof wood engraved frontispiece by Randolph Caldecott and proof wood engraved tailpiece by Kate Greenaway on india paper.

A collection of verses from Frederick Locker-Lampson, also known as Frederick Locker, an English man of letters, bibliophile and poet. With titles including: The Unrealized Ideal, My Neighbour Rose, A Garden Lyric, Geraldine, and At Her Window, amongst others.

With the bookplate of Bibliotheca Lindesiana to the front pastedown.

First published in 1857, this work went through many revisions and expansions.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, vibrant, minor losses of cloth to back strip head and tail. Rear joint head and tail, and front joint starting, with boards firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright, with gatherings unopened to heads.
