A scarce limited edition of three-hundred and forty copies, of which this is numbered three-hundred and twenty, on Hollande paper.

Bound by Raftolter. 

'Le Bon Varlet de Chiens' is extracted from the medieval book on hunting 'Livre de Chasse', compiled by Gaston III, Count of Foix, during the fourteenth century.

Gaston III was a master hunter, leaving behind his influential text on hunting, which provides a brilliant resource on medieval hunting techniques. 

With a notice by Paul Lacroix and notes by Ernest Jullien.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards, bound by Raftolter. Externally, smart, lightly rubbed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean. Half-title is working loose.
