Heavily illustrated with one hundred and forty-two fantastic monochrome plates. Collated, lacking plate 'L' with plate 'III' incorrectly labelled as plate 'I'. Most of the plates are double page spreads or folding plates.
A detailed and very scarce visual guide to mining from Amedee Burat, a French geologist and civil mining engineer. This work is made up of a large collection of over one hundred plates, depicting all aspects of mining and mineral extraction, including plans, diagrams of machinery and mining apparatus', transportation and more. This volume is the visual supplement to Burat's comprehensive mining course.

Condition
In original hardback binding. Externally, marks to the boards heaviest to the rear, slight bumping and edge wear, joints tender with closed tears and chipping. Loss to the head of the front free endpaper and minor spotting to the endpapers. Internally, worming to a small portion of the front few pages and to three pages within. First couple pages starting and one plate tender, otherwise firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with only the odd minor spot or mark. Internally smart, suitable for re-binding.
