A theatre programme for a performance of 'Hester's Mystery', 'Upper Crust' and 'The Light Fantastic', performed at Folly Theatre in 1880. Situated in the West End of London, Folly Theatre was known for its mix of operetta and burlesque performances.
Written for and starring comic actor J. L. Toole, 'Hester's Mystery' was a comedy play written by A. W. Pinero, which ran for 300 performances at Folly Theatre.
Also starring J. L. Toole, 'Upper Crust' and 'The Light Fantastic' were both written by prolific English dramatist, editor and theatre manager Henry J. Byron.
With original advertisements to the rear wrap and a theatre advertisement for Paul Pry's 'Dot'.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's wraps. Externally, sound, with chipping and closed tears to the extremities, including a horizontal tear to the backstrip center. Light age toning to wraps. Internally, firmly held, with small tears to the head and tail of the central fold. Light creasing.
