A collection of articles on the historical and archaeological studies between the years 1879 and 1880, focused on Lancashire and Cheshire. With reference to a catastrophe by lightning, gentlemen knighted by the Earl of Hartford, ancient stained glass, discoveries of ancient British artefacts, the trees in Dunham Park, marriages during the Commonwealth Period, and more. Edited by John Parsons Earwaker, an English antiquary. Previously held in the library of William Hesketh Lever, an English industrialist, philanthropist, and politician.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the cloth. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Previously owner's bookplates to the front pastedown and endpapers.
