Written by Robert James Mann, an English physician and science writer.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Small splits in the cloth to the head of the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting throughout. The odd small pencil annotation with a contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown. A tear to the title page resulting in loss to the top of the page. With light chipping to the page edges of the last few pages.
