Bound in the publisher's original wraps.

An issue from The Library Magazine, March 1870, containing the views of English philosopher and politician, John Stuart Mill, with regards to socialism.

This work contains the first four chapters of Mills comprehensive work on the subject. Mill considers the views of modern society, bringing into question the socialist ideas of speculative thinkers who were beginning to spread their thoughts among the workforce.

Introduced by Helen Taylor. This work was published seven years after Mill's death.

Two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

Bound in the publisher's original wraps. Externally, sound, with fading and some discolouration to wraps. Light edge wear, with some tears to the joints and backstrip. Wraps are a little tender. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are a touch age toned, with a few small marks.
