The first edition of this two-volume work in the publisher's original decorative cloth binding.

A particularly lovely example of Bentley's trade bindings.

A delightful two-volume work by the novelist, journalist and poet Mortimer Collins (1827-1876), reflecting on nature and gardening, as well as containing observations on leading a happy life. This work contains vivid descriptions of flowers, trees, and other plants, and witty and wise insights on life.

Condition

In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with fading to the spines. Front hinge starting to page 1 of volume 1. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages.
