A complete two volume set of the well-known and highly valued series of works on Natural History.

In publisher's original dark green cloth.

Volume I is comprised of text, whilst Volume II is comprised of 83 lithographic plates and accompanying notes. Collated, complete.

235 species occurring on the British coast are figured, which have been drawn by the author, Thomas Hincks, himself.

Hincks was a British Unitarian and a naturalist in the nineteenth century known for his work on zoophytes and bryozoa. 






Condition

In publisher's original cloth. Externally, very smart. Bumping to extremities, most significant to to head and tail of the spines. Light rubbing to boards. Library bookplate to front paste down of both volumes. Ink inscription and library stamp to front free endpaper of both volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light spotting and age toning to the front and rear.
