Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

In the original German, in black letter type.

A very scarce celebration of the work of the Northern Mannerist goldsmith and artist Wenzel Jamnitzer, who was the best known goldsmith of his era, and court goldsmith to a succession of Holy Roman Emperors, including Charles V, Ferdinand I, Maximilian II, and Rudolf II.

Illustrated with one-hundred and thirteen images on seventy-five plates. Collated, complete.

A beautiful collection of lithographs of the gold and silver vessels designed by Jamnitzer.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth backed portfolio binding, with paper covered boards. Retaining the original cloth tie to the front board. Front board detached, with back strip only loosely held to rear board to the tail. Internally, unbound as issued. Light handling marks to title page, with pages otherwise generally clean and bright.
