Greene served during the war, often referred to in Romania as the 'Romanian War of Independence', which began in 1877 and involved the Ottoman Empire and the Russian Empire. This work provides records of the entire war, including the declaration of the war and military recruitment, the fall of Plevna, the battle of 'Aladja Dagh' and more.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, slight fading to the spines, with a closed tear to the to the head of the front joint to 'Vol I', slight rubbing to the extremities, and minimal loss to the head of the spine to 'Atlas'. Front hinges starting, owner's ink signature to front pastedowns. Internally firmly bound with age toned and clean pages.
