    In publisher's original decorative green cloth binding. includes gilt to fore edge.

    With an engraved frontispiece, 12 plates and illustrations throughout. Collated, complete.

    The first edition of this abundant collection of sketches selected from "Walks in the Country" in the original edition of 1824. This volume holds a series of stories detailing the intricacies of rural life through vivid characters and nature. Mitford depicts the daily events of her home of Three Mile Cross, Berkshire, with the idyllic prose laced with elaborate illustrations from Boot and Murray.

    Condition

    In publisher's original binding. Externally, smart. Bumping to extremities, causing light edgewear to spine head and tail. Rubbing to the joints with the odd mark to boards. Hinges strained, with binder's sticker to rear paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound, with binding loosening occasionally. Pages bright with spotting throughout.
