'The Gardener's Assistant' offers a guide to the formation and management of the kitchen, fruit, and flower gardens, and the cultivation and conservatory greenhouse and stove plants, with a copious calendar of gardening operations and selects lists of plants, fruits and vegetables.

The object of the work was to describe fully and clearly the principle operations which have to be performed in order to insure success in the management of a garden.
