Scarce edition. Reprinted from the original edition of 1558 for the The English Scholar's Library of Old and Modern Works, issue no. 2. A polemical pamphlet attacking female monarchs by arguing that rule by women is contrary to the Bible. With the majority of the piece focusing on Knox's counterarguments to Calvin's viewpoints on gynarchy, while discussing gynarchy in general.
