A theatre programme for a performance of W. G. Wills' play 'Olivia', which took place at The Royal Court Theatre in London's West End. Still running to this day, this prestigious theatre housed a number of popular plays, including those of W. S. Gilbert, Arthur Cecil and John Clayton.
'Olivia' was written by Irish dramatist and painter, William Gorman Wills, and was based upon a leading incident in Oliver Goldsmith's 'The Vicar of Wakefield'. It received considerable success, with this particular performance starring the likes of Norman Forbes, Hermann Vezin and the debut of Maude Cathcart.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original wraps. Externally, excellent, with light creasing to the rear and the odd handling mark. Internally, firmly held. Pages are bright with just one or two light marks.
