Written by Sir Henry Churchill Maxwell Lyte, an English historian and archivist who served as deputy Keeper of the Public Records from 1886-1926.

This work provides as history of Eton College, a boarding school for boys aged 13-18 founded by Henry VI, and is the largest in England. 

It is considered a very prestigious school, with notable alumni such as Prince William, Prince Harry, Boris Johnson, David Cameron, and George Orwell.

Condition

In full red calf. Externally, very smart. Fading to spine with rubbing to joints and extremities. Odd scratch to boards. Hinges have been reinforced. Previous owner's book plate to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light spotting towards the front and rear of the work. Previous owner's book plate and ink inscription to first blank.
