Illustrated with monochrome vignettes, colour frontispieces and thirty-nine coloured plates. Collated, complete. 

A five volume set. 

The first five volumes of Frederick Edward Hulme's series on wild flowers. Hulme was a teacher and botanist, and was best known for this series of works. The volumes provide an overview of wild flowers, containing a detailed description of each flower and their medicinal uses and habitat.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloths. Externally very smart with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities, the slightest lean to the odd volume, and minor marks to the boards. Light offsetting, and spotting to the endpapers, with an ink inscription dated 1906 to the front of vol 1 and 2. Internally firmly bound with minimal age toning and occasional spotting. Minor tidemarks to the rear few pages of 'vol 1'.
