Written by Anne Jane Cupples, prolific children's author and wife to renowned maritime novelist George Cupples. First published in 1869, Norrie Seton; or, Driven to Sea draws from her husband's teenagehood spent at sea. Similar titles of hers include Unexpected Pleasures (1868) and The Little Captain (1885).
Condition
Bound in half calf with blue cloth boards and marbled endpapers. Externally, very smart with the odd mark, slight bumping and rubbing and minor loss of cloth particularly to the spine tips. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription from previous owner to first page. Pages bright and clean with exception of slight spotting towards the first and last few pages.
