Offered here is a comprehensive reference on writers of the time and previous, with summaries of their literary histories and character.
Also within this dictionary are theories and histories of a variety of genres of poetry and prose, the study of languages and the principles of their grammar.
Compiled by Louis Gustave Vapereau, a French writer and lexicographer. This and his other dictionary, 'Dictionnaire universel des contemporains' are his most famous works.
Condition
Bound in quarter crushed morocco, with cloth boards. Externally, with rubbing to the extremities and marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with institutional ink impressions to the title page. With a few spots to the first and last few leaves.
