This work was written by Captain Malet and provides an account of stage and mail coaching in Great Britain. The stagecoach was a form of public transport drawn by horses, with a mail coach being a stagecoach used to deliver mail, produced by the General Post Office. The work discusses the history of the stagecoach and details on speed, dangers and royal stagecoaches.
Bound in contemporary crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards.
Condition
Bound in crushed contemporary half morocco with cloth to the boards. Half title and blanks retained. Externally faded to the spine, light rubbing to the extremities, raised bands and joints, with very slight marks to the boards. Bookplate of Winsley to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear. Bookseller's stamp to the front blank.
