    The very scarce fourth edition of this work. Early editions such as this are scarce.

    Folding map is supplied in facsimile and hand coloured.

    This work features alphabetically arranged directories for the towns, streets, businesses and trades of the Dorset region in the 1870s.

    Rebound, retaining the original endpapers.

    With seventy-two pages of advertisements to rear.

    Offering fascinating insight into life and businesses in the region in the late nineteenth century.

    Condition

    Rebound in cloth, with morocco covered corners, and publisher's cloth laid down to centre of front board. Title laid down to back strip. Handling marks to boards. Retaining original endpapers. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Lacking front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned, with spotting throughout, and the odd marginal or gutter instance of worming, not affecting text. Folding map supplied in facsimile and hand coloured.
