The first edition of this scarce work.
'The House That Jack Built is a popular English nursery rhyme, thought to originate from the sixteenth century.
This volume contains two versions of the rhyme, the second one being close to the traditional nursery rhyme.
Illustrated with a chromolithograph frontispiece, and eleven chromolithograph plates. Collated, complete.
The illustrations are by J. R. Harris.
Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the Victoria and Albert Museum Libraries.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, resulting in a small amount of loss of cloth. Small tears to the joint. Light rubbing and a few minor marks to the cloth. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots.
